Brake caliper
Do these calipers fit the V70 / S60?
Yes, these calipers fit the Volvo V70 / S60. These brake calipers are original on the V70 / S60 R models.
Brake fluid leaking between air nipple and brake caliper?
Dirt/oxide has formed in the cone on the sealing surface between brake caliper and air nipple. Please clean this and try again. Be careful not to scratch the surface or it will leak.
If this does not work. Try releasing and tightening the air nipple several times, pulling it a little harder. The brake caliper will then form after the air nipple as the material in the brake caliper is softer than the bleed screw. If this does not work, try another bleed screw.
A leaking air nipple is caused by debris in the contact area between the air nipple and brake caliper. This means a damaged contact surface that does not hold tight. Therefore, always make sure to have clean and fresh brake fluid to minimize problems.
A steel air nipple is often harder than cast material. Therefore, you can "fix" e.g. a cast brake caliper by tightening a bleed screw more. If both parts are made of steel (not cast), it is more sensitive to dirt on the contact surfaces and is therefore not as easy to repair.
Brake fluid leaking between brake hose and brake caliper?
Dirt/oxide has formed in the cone on the sealing surface between brake caliper and brake hose. Please clean this and try again. Be careful not to scratch the surface as it takes a little for it to leak.
If this does not work. Try releasing and tightening the brake hose several times, pulling it a little harder. The brake caliper will then form to the brake hose as cast brake calipers is softer than the brake hose fitting. If this does not work, try another brake hose or fitting.
