In what order should the cylinder head bolts be tightened?
Always tighten the bolts according to the original recommendation. Only final tightening torques are different if you use aftermarket bolts.

Should grease be used or not?
Tightening torques listed are with ARP grease applied to contact surfaces.

How much ARP grease should be used?
You don't need a lot of fat. Just so the contact surface is covered with a thin layer.

How many ft./lbs are Newton meters?
ft./lbs x 1.356 = nm
Example: 70 ft./lbs x 1.356 = 94.92 Nm (Newton meters)

How many Newton meters are ft./lbs?
Nm / 1.356 = ft./lbs
Example: 94.92 Nm / 1.356 = 70 ft./lbs

Should the bolts be checked?
Yes, as these bolts are harder than original and do not stretch in the same way, a follow-up check needs to be done after start-up and metals "vibrated" into place. Regardless of whether you use ARP or original bolts, we always recommend that you do spontaneous bolt checks of, for example, wheel suspension and engine.
